Single-Stream Recycling

Millcreek Township does follow Single-Stream procedures allowing us to make recycling easier. Single stream refers to a system in which all recyclables are mixed together into one bag or bin and placed at the curbside. Advanced Disposal will further process and sort the mixed curbside recycling at their Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Buffalo, New York.

Unacceptable Items

It is extremely important to keep the following items out of your blue recycle bin:

  • No plastic grocery bags. Plastic bags are accepted at participating grocery and retail stores
  • No food waste and debris. Consider starting a new compost pile in your yard to turn food waste into nutrient-rich compost
  • No foam (Number 6 Plastic). Foam products are not recyclable and must be thrown away with curbside trash
