Curbside Collection of Trash and Recycling:
It has been determined by the CDC that the virus can remain viable for hours up to days on a variety of waste materials generated by residents. With that being said, Advanced Disposal is requiring that ALL waste be bagged in order to be collected. The updates below are for the protection of Advanced Disposal employees as well as the Millcreek residents to reduce the spread of the virus.
-ALL curbside trash must be placed in toters or trash/garbage bags.
-Grocery bags full of trash that are left outside of toters or cans for weekly curbside collection will not be picked up. These are prone to breaking open and are the major cause for wind blown trash on collection days.
-Loose trash will also be left curbside effective March 30th.
-If residents are using toters, all waste must still be bagged prior to depositing into the container. This will eliminate wind blown items while dumping the toter.
-Bagging does NOT include recyclables. Recyclables shall remain unbagged and single stream.
Special Collection of Electronics:
Due to closings of non-essential businesses, the Advanced Disposal front-door collection of electronics from Millcreek homes has been suspended until further notice. However, the front-door collection of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) will continue to follow normal protocols.
