Department of Planning and Development
Under the direction of Township Engineer Anne Sokol, P.E, Engineering is the division of the Department of Planning and Development that is responsible for storm water control, expansion of Township infrastructure, and public works projects. Through Engineering, the Planning and Development Department also provides technical services and support to various other Township departments. These services include grant application and management, land surveying, accident scene diagramming, technical drawing, and mapping. In addition, the Department maintains records of the Township’s public works assets and makes the information available to Township employees as well as the general public.
The staff has a particular interest in the application of technological advancements to digitize records and maps to increase their ease of use and availability. These initiatives include expanding the Township’s use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to enhance the quality of Township maps and employing shared document environments to convert paper documents to digital versions, available at employee’s workstations.
