ANTIFREEZE

  • Special Collect through Advanced Disposal. Call 1-844-415-5970

APPLIANCES (AIR CONDITIONER, DEHUMIDIFIER AND FREEZERS)

Removal options:

  1. Appliance Store. They will charge a fee to have their technician remove Freon and dispose of the item. You typically must take the item to their store.
  2. Lincoln Recycling or Liberty Iron  & Metal. Call for removal of the Freon and disposal of item.

BATTERIES (Automotive)

  • Accepted every other year in May at the Millfair Special Collection Event.

  • Always take the old battery to the store when you are purchasing a new battery. 

BATTERIES(Household)

  • RECHARGEABLE

    Radio Shack, Home Depot and Lowes locations

  • REGULAR

    As per Erie County Recycling, regular batteries are trash.

BOOKS

  • PAPERBACK

    Place in recycle bin

  • HARDBACK

    Remove the hardcovers and place those into the trash. The rest of the book may be recycled. You also have the option of donating them to your library or

CARPET

Carpeting that has been professionally removed should be taken by the installer. Smaller amounts may be picked up curbside on your trash day. (Must be bound and cannot exceed 4’ lengths)

CELL PHONES

Donate to: SafeNet, a shelter for women and children, 455-1774 OR Drop off at the office of Judge Paul Manzi, Millcreek Township Building, for the Sheriff Dept. TRIAD Program

CLOTHING

May be donated to the charity of your choice.

CONCRETE

Materials including concrete, brick or block can be taken to:
Fiesler West Recycling
1202 W. 16 St.
It will be turned into gravel. Call first at 454-6609.

GASOLINE

Also accepted through Waste Management’s At-Your-Door Program.

GRASS

Must be bagged as trash for curbside pickup.

LIGHT BULBS

Compact Fluorescent bulbs (CFL) – Erie County Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Regular – Place in trash (Wrap securely for your haulers safety)
Fluorescent bulbs/tubes - Erie County Household Hazardous Waste Collection

MOTOR OIL

RESIDENTIAL ONLY may be taken to Millcreek Township Street Department Entrance off Caughey Road between 7AM and 3:30PM.

TELEPHONE BOOKS

Telephone books are collected each December 1st through January 31st at the Municipal Building. They are taken to Erie Energy Products to be recycled into building insulation. All proceeds from the recycling of the telephone books benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.

TIRES

Accepted every year in May at the Millfair Special Collection event.

  • Tires with Rims - $5 disposal fee
  • Tires without Rims - $3 disposal fee

Always return tires to the store when purchasing new.
