Streets in Summer
Summer the best time of year. Sunshine, blue skies and traffic backed up for three blocks. Sorry... Everyone wants a new road, but when should we build them? When the weather is nice and most people want to get to the beach or picnic or some other form or relaxation is unfortunately the best time. To bad we do not know which road you are going to take to wherever it is you are going. It just seems every road you want to take is either closed or backed up. Between Millcreek Township Streets and PENNDOT and possibly other neighboring Townships we can really ruin your day.
We at Millcreek Township Streets are trying to keep you, the public, aware of road closings and work areas by notifying the local radio stations and news paper. Sometimes we can only give general information. Our work is sometimes set back by the weather, so we can not set definite dates and types of work that will be done.
We do most of our paving in the summer and average about 9 miles of streets paved a year. Also we continue with storm sewer installation, catch basin repair, mowing and all manners of street maintenance.
With vacationing visitor traffic, students out of school traffic and local traffic Millcreek Township streets are becoming more and more congested. Try to take your time, enjoy the scenery and leave yourself extra time to get where you are going.
Millcreek Township is called the gateway to Presque Isle because we surround the entrance to Presque Isle. When the driving gets to you, we recommend heading down to one of the great beaches and just kick back. Happy motoring!
