$3 Million RACP Grant Awarded to Millcreek Township to Further Implement the Presque Isle Gateway

Press Release (1)

For Immediate Release: Oct. 27, 2022

$3 Million RACP Grant Awarded to Millcreek Township to Further Implement the Presque Isle Gateway District Plan

MILLCREEK, PA – Millcreek Township has secured $3 Million from the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program towards implementing the Presque Isle Gateway District Plan. The announcement came from Harrisburg on Oct. 26, 2022. These funds are in addition to the $500,000 received from RACP a few months ago for the same project, for a total Commonwealth contribution of $3.5 million towards the project.

With this funding, the Township can begin the next phase to implement the Presque Isle Gateway District plan. Specifically, the Commonwealth provided funding supports making West 8th St. a beautified and welcoming environment, and will create a safe, accessible pedestrian-friendly corridor adjacent to the State Park.

Importantly, these changes will aid local businesses by attracting residents and visitors alike to stay, shop and eat in the surrounding area that welcomes more than four million annual visitors to Presque Isle.

“This is just the first step to build a stronger Millcreek community. We are excited to have the $3.5 million of support from the Commonwealth to enable us to continue a project that has substantial support amongst residents and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We know the significant benefits it will bring to the Township” said Millcreek Supervisor Kim Clear.

The RACP Grant would not be possible without the support of Representative Ryan Bizzarro and Senator Dan Laughlin. Millcreek Township would also like to thank Governor Tom Wolf and the Commonwealth of PA for their recognition of and generous support for this worthwhile project. Millcreek Township is honored to be included with an impressive array of other RACP projects across Pennsylvania.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a PA Commonwealth program to acquire or construct projects of regional, economic, cultural, civic, historical, or recreational improvements. The PA Office of the Budget administers the RACP program.

RACP Projects are deemed to have a regional or multi-jurisdiction impact and to generate substantial increases in employment, tax revenues, or other economic activity. The Capital Budget Itemization Act authorizes RACP funding. Visit for more information. To view the concept images or the full Gateway plan visit
