Presque Isle Advisory Committee Seeking Business Representatives

Erie, PA -The Presque Isle Advisory Committee (PIAC) was established in 1986 due to community concerns about the quality of sand being used to fortify beaches at Presque Isle State Park. Today, the Committee serves in a broader advisory capacity to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) on a variety of issues, including ecological integrity, proposed development projects, beach protection, environmental education, public safety, and other pertinent matters. The Committee's role expanded to include Erie Bluffs State Park when it opened to the public in 2005.

The Committee is comprised of 15 unpaid volunteers from the regional community, including four from government agencies, two representing the business community, and nine representing education, environment, and public interest.

Currently, there are two vacancies on the Committee, both in the business category. If you are eligible to represent a business, have a business background or experience, and are interested in serving on the Committee to support the Presque Isle State Park Complex, please send a letter of interest to Presque Isle State Park at ra-nrsppres@pa.gov.

The deadline for submission is May 3, 2023.
