WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA - The Erie County Association of Township Officials (ECATO) hosted a breakfast at Wainer Park for its 16th annual scholarship winners.

Congratulations to the scholarship winners, Rachel Maggio from Millcreek Township, Mikayla Niggel from Union Township and Mya Post from North East Township. Scholarship winners are selected based on academic success, need and extracurricular activities. They also submit an essay detailing their future academic career.

“I have had the privilege of serving as the Chairman of the ECATO Scholarship Committee for the past six years. The quality of applications we receive each year is amazing,” said Millcreek Township Supervisor, Jim Bock, “All of the applicants are deserving and it is always a tough decision to pick the three winners. The graduates are truly worthy of the scholarships, and it is encouraging to see the initiative these students show. Their futures are bright, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

Jim Bock of Millcreek Township chairs the ECATO Scholarship Committee with Robert Soltis from Elk Creek, Mary Jo Campbell from Washington Township and Joy Biebel from Greene Township.

The ECATO Scholarship Committee and representatives from other townships across Erie County were in attendance for the presentation. ECATO invited scholarship recipients to sit in for the ECATO business meeting.
