MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP AND SCHOOL DISTRICT PARTNER FOR BUS SAFETY PSA
For Immediate Release: September 20, 2023
MILLCREEK, PA – Millcreek Township and Millcreek School District have partnered to film a PSA on the new Bus Patrol cameras and bus safety.
“This supports community safety and showcases that Millcreek is a safe place to live and learn,” said Millcreek Supervisor Kim Clear.
The new cameras automatically detect violations utilizing AI technology. The video is processed and sent to the Millcreek Police Department where a citation can be issued. 98% of violators do not repeat offenses according to Bus Patrol.
“We don’t want any violations or citations,” said Assistant Superintendent Trevor Murnock, "we’re asking the community to be aware and responsible.”
“Traffic running alongside or approaching a bus with its stop sign deployed must stop,” said MPD Patrolman Ben Bastow, “the only exception is if there is a physical barrier between the vehicle and bus such as a grassy median, concrete barrier and guardrails.”

The PSA was filmed and edited by WQLN. It released on Sep. 18, 2023.
